THE CA' D'ORO

Ca' d'Oro, the finest palace on the Grand Cana, lhouses Baron Franchetti's  important art collection which includes, among other masterpieces, the stunning "San Sebastiano" by Andrea Mantegna.

Together with his collection, displayed on two floors, in 1916   Franchetti'  also presented the Italian Government  with the palace, after bringing it back to its pristine splendour thanks a thorough and painstaking restoration work.

The inner courtyard is particularly significant for its mosaic floor, made of ancient marble  made by the Baron himself, and for its original well-head carved  by Bartolomeo Bon in 1427
