CANNAREGIO AND THE JEWISH GHETTO
The Venetian Ghetto was the area of Venice in which the Jews were forced to live in at the time of the Venetian Republic.
The word "Ghetto" derives from this very area.
The Ghetto is located in the Cannaregio district, and is also the seat of the Jewish Community in Venice.
Please note that the tour does not include the interior of any of the synagogues; for further information please contact the Jewish Community.
